The Bamboo B1000N platform is provided with multiple 40Gbe uplink interfaces on each B1000N Blade. These connections should be connected to your corporate network for user and application access. Bamboo Systems offer multiple, default, uplink configurations to meet your requirements. In addition a 'Custom' option for those customers with very specific and detailed requirements is available. Configuration options can be found in the Bamboo Systems Web-UI under the 'Network Configuration' page. The below details the different options and their cabling requirements
Redundant Full Bandwidth
This network configuration provides a total of 160Gbps bandwidth between the Bamboo Systems B1000N and your corporate network. To achieve this all 40Gb/e uplink ports are connected and live in an active/active state with a pair of LACP Port Aggregations configured (one per blade). Once correctly configured you will achieve uplink redundancy at the port, cable and switch levels. This configuration also enables Spanning Tree by default.
This configuration is best suited to customers looking for maximum network performance and complete redundancy between their B1000N and corporate network. NOTE: LACP port aggregation and Spanning Tree must be enabled and correctly configured on your corporate switch/s to ensure correct failover behaviour

Cabling Example 2 - single switch configuration
This network configuration provides a port efficient option to uplink your Bamboo Systems B1000N to the corporate network. Available options include single port, dual port and quad port uplinks. This configuration has no LACP port aggregations but does still provide some level of redundancy. Connections are either single port per Bamboo Systems blade or dual port active/standby.
This configuration is best suited to customers looking to minimize the amount of ports required on their corporate switch or those without the ability to configure switch level LACP port aggerates.
NOTE: Spanning Tree must be enabled and correctly configured on your corporate switch/s to ensure correct behaviour

The SFP+ Breakout configuration allows for uplinks to corporate networks which do not have available 40Gbe QSFP+ ports available. To accommodate connection to 10Gbe SFP+ switches Bamboo Systems come with optional QSFP+ to SFP+ breakout cables. These cables break a single 40Gbe connection into 4 x 10Gbe SFP+ connections.

The Custom network configuration ensures that the Bamboo Systems management controller doesn't add any configuration to the on board layer 3 switches on each B1000N blade.
This option is best suited for customers who require specific configurations outside of what is available with the above options.
